Dampier Salt Stacker

Geoff Dyer and Associates have undertaken a computer modelling and analysis of an existing Salt Stacker near Carnarvon in WA, to consider its compliance with current design codes including AS4324.1 - Mobile equipment for handling of bulk materials.  Further work has included a site assessment of corrosion and reporting of strengthening requirements.

WMC Duct Structures

Recent projects have included large tank farm extensions consisting of 36 x 680kL tanks at Richmond Grove and 60 x 680kL tanks at Rowland Flat, as well as smaller tank farm extensions at both sites. The scope of engineering included reinforced concrete slabs, pipe bridges and supports, walkways and stair access, retaining walls, drainage and associated civil works and design and verification of tank designs. The use of steel fibre reinforced slabs using Dramix/Scancem fibres has proved to be successful and cost efficient for the smaller projects.

Other tanks have been designed for Amec Engineering, Western Mining / Olympic Dam, Iona International and International Engineering.

Underground load chute support structure including steelwork design and drafting, designed to support chute and to withstand large impact loads from falling ore.
Concrete arch load chute structure, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), as an alternative structure to the steelwork designs currently in operation.
Modifications to the underground crushing plant structure
Bypass chute to Clark Shaft ore bin.

Millmerran Power Station, Queensland – Structural engineering design of traveling stacker and tripper, and portal reclaimer (refer to view on Software page of this brochure).
Other similar work has included the structural design of stackers and attached tripper structures for Moranbah coal, Queensland and for Western Collieries, WA.

Shiploader additions and repairs.
An ongoing role with inspections of the shiploader, especially at times of damage or abnormal loading. Previously involved with additions and upgrades to the structure and adjacent conveyors.

Previous work undertaken for Adelaide Brighton Management has included bins and hoppers, conveyors galleries and transfer towers, and feasibility studies for various projects.
